Training Eligibility Requirements

Age 18 or older
-
Diagnosis of mental health issue(s) and/or substance abuse history, and have current or prior use of behavioral health services

Desire to use her or his experiences to help others with their recovery and wellness.

Willing to publicly identify as a person living with a mental health issue and/or substance abuse history in order to model the reality of recovery and wellness

Graduated high-school/completed a G.E.D. (or equivalent), or have a commitment to work towards that prior to certification
Application & Participation Requirements

Application must be completed in its entirety.

Applicants must agree to attend and actively participate in five full days of training and two days exam preparation. Participants will participate in discussion and role--‐plays utilizing personal experiences as individuals in recovery, rather than clinical roles or training.

Graduates must be willing to sit the IC&RC Peer Recovery exam and work towards their full IC&RC Peer Recovery certification
Selection Process

Selection is based primarily on information provided in this application; however, a telephone interview may also be conducted.
